The minister, Peter, leaves his wife and a world in turmoil to go minister to the Oasans (the name of the inhabitants of the planet).
A significant part of the book is Peter's and his wife's letters back and forth to each other. The other significant part of the book is Peter quoting scriptures. Frankly, I just read over these parts so I could get back to the good parts - which was Peter's relationships with his wife Bea, the people on the mission with him and the Oasans.
Despite the constant quotations from the bible, I really liked this book. It was a sound story about people forging relationships in strange new lands.
As a side bonus, the book came with gilt paper edges - I knew the book was going to be good for that reason alone!
