These were a bit on the weird side though. Some of the short stories were split up into parts - almost short stories within a short story. For example, Possum Triptych was 3 stories about possums. The only thread between the stories - was that they all contained possums. Another story, Mayday, Jones Garden was a story that cycled between 3 different groups of people. Eventually you see how all of the people are connected, but until you get to the end of the story, everything feels really disconnected.
The title story was interesting though, albeit in a bizarre way. It was about a man who ranted and raved about dogs peeing on the hydrant in front of his house. The man was very obsessive about it and it isn't till the end of the story that you find out his secret - he has been going around the neighborhood peeing on the hydrants himself!
