Just as the party guests arrive, the phone rings and it is the Great Central Railway telling of an accident nearby on a branch line. They are the only house close by and the railway insists they must put the survivors up until they can get transportation out there to remove the survivors.
Into the morning room go all of the Uninvited Guests while Emerald, Clovis and Charlotte try to carry on with their dinner party.
It is what happens with these guests as the night goes on as well as with a lone pony that gets brought into the house that makes this story unique and fun to read.
I was totally surprised by the turn of events in this story - which is always a good outcome for a novel when reading.
